PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize optical recording power in a phase transition optical disk by compensating envelope waveform of an RF signal based on an focus error signal and setting the recording power based on the compensated envelope waveform at the time of optimizing the recording power based on the envelope waveform of the RF signal. SOLUTION: An envelope detecting circuit 102 generates the envelope signal from the RF signal from an optical head 101 to output it to a sampling circuit 103. Besides, a leveling circuit 105 detects a period when a focus error signal FE from the optical head 101 becomes negative and this device compensates the envelope signal with the fluctuation portion of the focus error signal FE by allowing the sampling circuit 103 so as to sample the envelope signal except this period. Thus, a CPU 111 can optimize the recording power satisfactorily by controlling a laser driving amplifier WAM 110 based on the envelope signal whose waveform is compensated. |
