PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FM multiplex receiver, with which operability can be improved by changing the frequency characteristic of an equalizer automatically, corresponding to the category of the program of FM multiplex broadcasting under reception or the genre of music. SOLUTION: This FM multiplex receiver is provided for changing the setting of an equalizer 1, while utilizing multiple information showing the category of the broadcasting program transmitted together with audio information by the FM multiplex broadcasting or the name of music to be broadcasted, while plural names of music classified into plural genres are stored in a CD-ROM 25, and plural frequency characteristics to be set to the equalizer 1 are registered in a storage part 17a, corresponding to the respective categories of programs or the respective genres of music. A control part 17 recognizes the name of music or the like which is broadcasted form the multiplex information extracted by a signal processing circuit 15, and based on the stored information in the CD-ROM 25 and the storage part 17, the frequency characteristics corresponding to that genre of music or the like are specified and set to the equalizer 1. |
