PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data converter that easily converts the format of conventional video image data into a DV format without compressing the data, and to provide a data conversion method and a recording medium. SOLUTION: A data division processing circuit 22 divides video data A in 512 k-byte from a data quantity detection circuit 21 by each data B. That is, the video data in 512 k-byte are divided by each 107 k-byte. Let remaining 84 k-byte data be D, then an in-frame processing circuit 24 change the data B into C-set, that is, 4 DV blocks and changes the data D into one DV block. An exclusive use code processing circuit 25 conducts exclusive code processing to insert a start, end of a frame corresponding to the video data A and other sequential data. A DV standard processing circuit 26 insert prescribed data to a DIF-ID and a sub code area or the like required to record data other than the DV format. |
