PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a post-recording method capable of reproducing a post- recording sound by accurately matching it with the time of an original video. SOLUTION: This method comprises a first step of reading original data including at least a video bit stream from a digital recording medium 1, a second step of decoding this original data, a third step of encoding audio data to generate a new audio bit stream in synchronization with the decoding of this original data and a fourth step of writing this new audio bit stream in an area corresponding to a time roughly equal to the original data recording area of the digital recording medium 1.
