PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a battery superior in safety and free of insertion failures of center pin by interposing an insulating layer on at least a part between the central cavity part of an electrode body and a center pin. SOLUTION: A battery can 4 has a center pin 1 arranged in the central cavity part of an electrode body 3, and an insulating layer 2 arranged on the circumference of the center pin 1. As the material of the insulating layer 2, a nonmetal is preferably used, and typical examples of the nonmetal include resin, glass, paper, wood and the like. The resin is particularly preferred from the viewpoint of its superior working property and corrosion resistance, and as the typical material thereof, polyester, polyamide, polyolefin and the like can be named. The thickness of the insulating layer 2 is set to most desirably 5-500 μm, when a polyester film, polypropylene film or the like having an uniform thickness is used. The insulating layer is most preferably laminated in 1-3 layers. |
