<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar system which is easily mounted to a mobile body. SOLUTION: Antennas 48, 50, and 52 mounted on a car emit a radio wave in front of the car, and receive a reflection from a preceding car. A calculation means 8 detects, based on the intensity of reception signal from each of antennas 48, 50, and 52, an azimuth of the preceding car with the center-line direction of radial radio wave beam of the antenna as reference. Meanwhile, a travel direction sensor 6 fixed along with the antennas 48, 50, and 52 detects the car's travel direction with the center-line direction as reference. Then the calculation means 8 calculates, based on the detected azimuth of the preceding car and the car's travel direction detected with the travel direction sensor 6, the preceding car's azimuth with the car's travel direction. So, even if the orientation of the antenna mounted to the car comprises some error, an accurate azimuth of the preceding car is obtained.</p> |
