<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an optical fiber coupling device low in cost. SOLUTION: In this unidirectional or bidirectional optical fiber coupler which uses POF(polymer optical fibers) having a mirror 210 in themselves so as to reflect a light signal, the mirror has >=1 cut part 240 having >=1 surface reflecting a light signal perpendicular to the center axis of the fiber at an angle to the center axis of the optical fiber. With a unidirectional implementation style, an input light signal can be coupled from one of combinations of input optical fibers and transmitted to one of combinations of output optical fibers. With a bidirectional implementation style, the light signal from a tap fiber can be reflected in an opposite direction along a 1st optical fiber, i.e., a bus optical fiber. With another style, the depth of a cut part 240 is controlled by monitoring the residual power from the optical fiber during the cutting of the cut part.</p> |
