PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the irregularity in orientation without reducing the effective area of a liquid crystal display element and to prevent the occurrence of the generation of display irregularity of a liquid crystal display device by making the difference between the surface heights of jigs and the height of the surface of a substrate to be within in a prescribed value. SOLUTION: The vertical direction measurement value of a substrate is taken into a CPU 22 from a measurement means 21. The value is stored in a random access memory 23, which is first storage means 23, the vertical directions of first and second jigs 29 and 30 stored in a read-only memory 24, which is a second storage means 24, are beforehand read and a comparison operation is conducted. Difference signals are then transmitted to servo motors 25 and 27 of first and second jig up and down mechanisms 26 and 28 through wirings 31 and 32. Thus, the jigs 29 and 30 are moved up and down through the drive of the mechanisms 26 and 28 by the motors 25 and 27. Thus, the top surfaces of the jigs 29 and 30 and the top surface of a substrate 1 are made into same heights. |
