PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield-layer-equipped quad-twist telecommunication cable having a characteristic impedance of 150±10 (Ω), for use in LAN-to-LAN transmission with transmission speed at Gbit level. SOLUTION: In a telecommunication cable used in high-speed data transmission at 100 Mbps or more and comprising four insulated wire cores 3 twisted together in the form of a star-shaped quad and covered at their outsides with a holding insulating layer 5, an electromagnetic shield layer 6, and a sheath layer 7 made of a thermoplastic resin and located outside the layer 6, the radius (r) of a conductor 1 used as the insulated wire core 3, the distance D between two of the insulated wire cores arranged in point symmetry with respect to the center of the cable, and the twist pitch P of the quad meet 6.5<=D/r<=9 and 7<=P/D<=18.
