FIELD: ultrasonic flaw detection by echo-pulse method during manual test. SUBSTANCE: increased productivity in location of flaws in article under ultrasonic inspection is achieved thanks to emission of ultrasonic pulses into article with inclination, to reception and recording of echo signals on indicator with A scan on which screen image of article section is plotted. Voltage exhibiting path of propagation of probing pulses in section is supplied to indicator in scale with it and A scan during short periods of emission. Scan of indicator is delayed by time proportional to distance from ultrasonic converter to zone of article section displayed on screen. Echo pulses are selected during periods of display of path of propagation of probing pulses on screen, illumination pulses are formed from them and fed to indicator. Device for realization of invention has synchronizer, generator of probing pulses, reception and amplification unit, indicator with image of article section plotted on its screen, commutator, voltage unit forming path of propagation of ultrasonic probing pulses in article section, unit generating pulses illuminating beam of indicator, unit of time delay of initiation of unit of horizontal scan, transducer of movement of ultrasonic converter and two units for selection of echo signals.
