FIELD: water shutoff operations in oil wells under conditions of waterflooding. SUBSTANCE: method includes formation of flow-deflecting screen from gel to adequate depth by successive injection of portions of gel-forming compounds, colmatage compounds and portions of displacing fluid. Time of beginning of gel formation of the first (preceding) portion of gel-forming compound is established exceeding or equalling the total time of injection of all subsequent portions of gel-forming, colmatage compounds and portions of displacing fluid. EFFECT: higher oil recovery from formations due to distribution of filtering flows of injected water in formation and saving of total amount of injected bridging material in zones of tongue breakthroughs of injected waters. 1 dwg
