<p>A coating composition for protecting a corrodible metal suface from corrosion includes an intrinsically conductive salt of a polyphosphonic acid as well as a solvent and other optional components. The composition is used to form a protective coating on the surface of corrodible metals such as iron and steel. The coating passivates the metal surface and complexes the passivated metal, thus protecting the surface from rust and corrosion.</p> |
