Magnetic resonance imaging system with galvanically insulated coil element

The imaging system uses magnetic resonance. It has a high frequency coil device for exciting atoms in a region (5) of a patient to be examined and for detecting signals emitted from the excited atoms. The high frequency coil device has at least a first coil element (10). It also has at least one galvanically insulated second coil element (20) magnetically coupled to the first coil element (10). The second coil element (20) amplifies the signals emitted from the examined region (5). The system has at least one free access region (24) for mechanically engagement in the examined region (5) esp. for an operation or for a biopsy. The sterility required for the operation is ensured by a sterile spraying system (31,32).
