The hinge butt comprises a fixed basic body (2) containing a holder (3) for the bolt-container (4). The holder and basic body are positioned on opposite end sides and engage with pressure surfaces of a tong-type adjustment tool (7) driven by pressurized medium (14,15;12,13). The basic body forms guide rails (5,6) gripping over the edges of the holder. The plunger (10) of a piston-cylinder arrangement (11) operated by pressurized medium goes through one arm (9) of a U-shaped bracket (8). The plunger runs parallel with the base of the bracket.
