摘要 The present invention relates to a device for a sound-absorbing unit (3) for reduction of sounds from a flowing gas stream, comprising a first flow path (4, 5, 6) and a second flow path (4, 8, 6) for said gas stream and a switch-over device (7, 11) for alternating guiding of the gas stream along the first flow path (4, 5, 6) and the second flow path (4, 8, 6), respectively. The invention is characterized in that it comprises a detection device (12) for detection of the pressure of said gas stream, and that the switch-over device (7, 11) comprises an adjustable throttle (7) for blocking of the first flow path (4, 5, 6) when a pressure which is below a predetermined limit value (P0) is detected, wherein the gas stream is guided through said second flow path (4, 8, 6), and that the throttle (7) is adapted to be opened if said limit value (P0) is exceeded, wherein the gas stream is guided along said first flow path (4, 5, 6). By means of the invention, an improved adjustable device is provided for mufflers for vehicles, said device providing an effective sound absorption, a small mounting volume and a low back pressure during high engine speeds.
