<p>A method and device to verify the authenticity and genuiness of currency or other documents. An array of capacitive electrodes (130) is pressed against both sides of the document under test (100). The capacitive array is probed so data related to the impedance values are generated and stored. Those values are then correlated to values representative of genuine documents and the authenticity of the document under test is thus established. Data values that do not correlate within certain limits would point out to a counterfeit or defective document.</p> |
