FIELD: shipbuilding; shipboard steering gears. SUBSTANCE: steering gear consists of main steering unit and two swivel flaps secured in aft portion by means of shafts. Tiller is fitted on upper end of each shaft. Swivel flaps are secured on port and star-board sides. Shafts of swivel flaps are secured symmetrically relative to plane of symmetry of main steering unit. Drive for turning each flap is made in form of lever engageable with tiller and having vertical axis of rotation; lever is located in plane of tiller and is connected with engine. Plane of motion of port tiller and respective lever is shifted in height relative to plane of motion of starboard tiller-and-lever pair. EFFECT: enhanced reliability; extended functional capabilities of steering gear. 6 dwg
