The system to clamp and release the yarn underwinding, at the spindle of a ring spinner or twister, has the end surface (10) of the clamp (3) section at least as a spring tongue (6). It is bonded to the sleeve (15) at the spindle (1) through an intermediate zone (12). The clamp (3) has a number of spring tongues (6) distributed round its periphery, each with a limit stop (17) to restrict the movement through centrifugal forces. The limit stop (17) is in one piece with the intermediate zone (12) of each spring tongue (6), as a limit in an opening (5) in the collar (2). The thickness (d) of the limit stop (17) is smaller than the width (D) of the opening (5). A unit to prevent movement of the yarn underwinding is near the opening (5) in the collar (2), formed by the end surfaces (10, 20) of the fixed collar (2) and the clamp (3) projecting beyond the member (22), which is in the spaces between the separate spring tongues (6)
