PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for crushing the glass plates of cathode ray tubes which can crush the plates finely. SOLUTION: In a crusher 1 for glass plates which are separated from cathode ray tubes and have metal parts is equipped with a fixed body 10 which is loaded with the glass plates and has recessed parts, positioning parts 26 which are arranged corresponding to the recessed parts 20 and position the end parts of the glass plates in the fixed body 10, moving bodies 11 which move toward the recessed parts 20 of the fixed body to crush the glass plates on the fixed body 10 arranged corresponding to the positioning parts 26, a driving means which moves the moving bodies 11 to the recessed part 20 side of the fixed body and retracts the moving bodies 11 from the recessed parts 20 after crushing the glass plates.
