<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail excellent in tactile sensation and usable as a guide lamp by forming the handrail of a pair of wood bar members, disposing a luminous member inside the bar members, and inserting a translucent member between the bar members. SOLUTION: A handrail comprises a handrail body 1 and a luminous member 2. The handrail body 1 is composed of semicylindrical wood bar members 11, 12 and a translucent member 3 formed by extrusion-molding transparent synthetic resin such as acrylic nitrile resin. The translucent member 3 is insert-fitted into the upper half parts of the bar members 11, 12, and three members are integrally jointed through the light transmission member 3. The translucent member 3 with a lamp inserted in a transparent pipe functions as the upper light transmission aperture of the handrail, and light is emitted from this part so as to be able to clearly confirm the presence of the handrail. The lower half parts of the mating faces of the bar members 11, 12 are cut in groove shape to form a storage recess 4 for the luminous member 2, and the light emitting member 2 is charged therein. The handrail therefore has the same appearance and tactile sensation as a wooden one and functions as a guide lamp.</p> |
