A device using hot air to decontaminate clothes or other objects contaminated with gaseous, liquid or particulate chemical materials, comprises a decontamination chamber (1-7) sealed with doors (6, 7) and provided with thermal insulation on the inside to minimise heat emission from the decontamination region (19) where the objects are exposed to hot air.The device has an intermediate base (12) mounted on spacer elements (13) above the chamber floor (4) to form an air distribution space (11) between the base and floor, into which hot air is introduced. Holes (14) in the base allow hot air to rise up from the air distribution space into the decontamination region. Air leaves the chamber through exit valves (24) in the top of the decontamination region. |
