PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To have a deodorant function over a long period. SOLUTION: An electric precipitator is equipped with an ionizing electrode part 1 and a dust collecting electrode 2 for collecting charged dust. An oxidation catalyst 3 is arranged downstream from the electrode part 1 in an air passage. In addition to deodorization by the reaction between active oxygen generated by the electrode part 1 and odorous substances, the substances are deodorized by oxidation catalyst 3 which is activated by the activated oxygen.
