PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic cell for obtain brine contg. hydrogen peroxide of a concn. higher than the concn. obtainable with the conventional cells and having adaptability to environmental conservation. SOLUTION: Hydrogen peroxide producing units 3 and water electrolyzing units 2 are alternately arranged within the same electrolytic cell 1. The electrolysis is effected while the gaseous hydrogen and gaseous oxygen generated in the water electrolyzing units are supplied to the gas diffusion anodes 11 and gas diffusion cathodes 13 of the hydrogen peroxide producing units 3, by which the brine contg. the hydrogen peroxide of the high concn. is obtd. Since the gaseous hydrogen diffusion anodes with which oxidativeness is suppressed are used as anodes, hazardous org. halides are not produced from the halogen ions included in the sea water.
