PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polynucleotide having high identity with a nucleic acid sequence encoding an HPMBQ91 polypeptide of a specific amino acid sequence, useful for treating and diagnosing diseases related to the expression and activity of the polypeptide. SOLUTION: This new nucleotide contains a nucleotide sequence having at least 85% identity with a nucleotide sequence along its whole length, encoding an HPMBQ91 polypeptide of the formula or a nucleotide sequence having complementarity to the polynucleotide sequence and is useful for producing a neuropeptide precursor and the HPMBQ91 polypeptide being the peptide product of the precursor and for treating and diagnosing diseases related to the expression and activity of the HPMBQ91 polypeptide. The polypeptide is obtained from a cDNA library derived from an mRNA of human placenta cell, fatal hepatolienal cell or lymphonodus merker cell by using a standard cloning and screening and an expression sequence tag analysis.
