PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve graininess of color images without causing reduction of an ink tank capacity, decrease of a recording speed, etc., by arranging a means for discharging drops of a white ink at an ink-jet recorder recording color images to recording media with the use of inks of a plurality of colors. SOLUTION: Print data (image information) received from a host are stored in an input buffer 46. Multivalue color image data as the received data are processed at a color-processing circuit 43, that is, subjected toγcorrection, UCR process, halftone process, etc., so that binary color image data are generated. After isolated dots are distinguished, dots are replaced with white dots through dropping of white ink drops, etc., according to this embodiment, the image data are stored as photographic print data in an image memory 44. Photographic print data of one scan are read out and fed to a head-driving circuit 48 through a PIO port 47, whereby heads 6y, 6m, 6c, 6k, 6w of corresponding colors of a recording head 6 are driven. |
