PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sensor from malfunctioning due to light other than one reflected by an ink tank. SOLUTION: A carriage 2 having an ink tank 4 has a measurement hole 2b though which light hits the part 4c of an ink tank that is detected by a sensor 11. A main scanning rail 8 faces a guide face 8b toward and brings near the face of the carriage 2. The sensor 11 detects the presence of the ink tank 4 by reflecting light emitted by a light-emitting section 11a and receives incoming light by a light receiving section 11b. The carriage 2 side edge of the hole 8a of the main scanning rail 8 is convex. An elastic member 12 having a space that passes light is pinched between the main scanning rail 8 and the sensor 11 and intercepts external light. |
