PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a change in printing quality caused by exchange of ink cartridges. SOLUTION: When ink cartridges are exchanged, a control signal is fed from a host computer incorporated in a recording apparatus to a printing preparatory signal-generating circuit 90. The circuit 90 changes a charging time to a capacitor C1 based on the signal, thereby changing a voltage value at a charging time of the capacitor C1 which is charged, discharged by a charging circuit 92 and a discharging circuit 93. A driving power fed to a piezoelectric element 85 driving a recording head is adjusted on the basis of a terminal voltage of the capacitor C1, and therefore a change in printing quality due to the exchange of ink cartridges can be restrained. |
