PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the comprehensive efficiency in one series of processes producing reducing gas used for reduction, executing the reduction and recirculating the gas in a direct reduction of an iron. SOLUTION: At the time of synthesizing synthetic gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide with partial oxidizing reaction of hydrocarbon base supplying raw material, the synthetic gas having higher pressure than average operating gas pressure in the direct reducing reaction of the iron, is produced. This gas is expanded to the average operating gas pressure in the reducing reaction and supplied to the reducing reaction and the motive power developed at the time of expanding this gas is used to the driving of a compressor for recirculating the reducing gas.
