PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft sealing device which can seal a rotary shaft certainly. SOLUTION: A shaft sealing device 1 is composed of a housing 7 which surrounds a shaft 8 and is furnished with a ring-shaped groove 7a confronting the shaft 8, a housing ring 3 made of elastic material which is fitted resiliently in the groove 7a and has a ring-shaped recess 4 confronting the shaft 8, and a lubricant-containing polymer ring 5 which is fitted in the recess 4 in the housing ring 3 and has a sliding surface to make sliding with the shaft 8. The recess 4 has a projection 3a on the inside surface, while the polymer ring 5 has a recess to be fitted on the projection 3a. |
