PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition exhibiting suppressed whitening phenomenon in contact with hot water or steam, having excellent transparency and useful as a food packaging material, etc., by including a specific rubber elastomer in the form of dispersed particles. SOLUTION: This rubber-modified styrene resin contains a rubber elastomer consisting of a styrene-butadiene copolymer or a styrene-butadiene block copolymer as dispersed particles and contains a continuous phase composed of 20-80 pts.wt. of a styrene monomer and 80-20 pts.wt. of an acrylic acid (methacrylic acid) ester monomer. The alkali metal content of the rubber-modified styrene resin is <=20 ppm. |
