PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transfer image having a high washing resistance by forming a recorded image having a high water resistance by an ink jet type and thermally transferring the image to a material to be transferred. SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer sheet, a protective layer releasable from a base material and an ink receptive layer are sequentially formed on at least one side surface of the material. The protective layer can be constituted by a thermoplastic resin, thermosetting resin, elastomer (natural rubber, synthetic rubber, thermoplastic elastomer or the like) or the like. The receptive layer can be constituted by a hydrophilic polymer (polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinylpyrrolidone, cellulose derivative, their modified substances or the like) or hot-melt adhesive resin (nylon, polyester, polyurethane resin or the like). The receptive layer may further contain a cationic polymer and/or urethane polymer. The cationic polymer can be constituted by an aqueous emulsion of an acrylic or urethane polymer (polyester type urethane polymer). Further, the receptive layer may contain a crosslinker, a plasticizer and a dye fixing agent. |
