A new type of silk-screening inks and vehicles is described, not requiring the use of external bonding agents. Also described is the process of using same in the production of decorated tiles. The composition of these vehicles is as follows: prepolymer 0.1 percent to 30 percent, monomer 0 percent to 30 percent, photoinitiator 0 percent to 15 percent, and nonreactive liquid 50 percent to 99 percent. The ink composition is: frit 30 percent to 80 percent, pigment 0 percent to 50 percent, and vehicle 20 percent to 70 percent. The process consists in applying an ultraviolet radiation to the ink after it is applied in order to bring about its hardening. The repetition of this step on different inks allows one to obtain the desired decoration, which is finally subjected to elevated temperatures so that the tile takes on its final properties. The process also works when the ceramic backing has been previously baked, but not the coating covers or enamel on which the decoration is applied.
