PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll with high surface durability and outstanding corrosion resistance and a method for manufacturing a solvent-cast film using the roll and control contamination to be caused by the corrosion of a stretching device when the film is allowed to travel in the device and also a flaw on the surface of the film to stably obtain the film with a smooth surface in the method for casting a polymer solution which can make a film through solvent casting, over a support to form the film and then removing the solvent, various salts or the like and stretching the film. SOLUTION: This roll has a coat (hereafter called thin coat chromium layer) of a spinel-type hydrate oxide of chromium and a hard coat layer formed on the surface. After casing a polymer solution over a support to form a film, a solvent, various salts or the like are removed and the film is stretched. In this case, the solvent-cast film is manufactured using this roll. |
