PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve work execution properties by forming cushioning material on roof backing with a level difference, and forming hard roofing on the cushioning material in correspondence with the level difference. SOLUTION: Cushioning material B is formed on existing roof backingαwith a level difference. The cushioning material B is formed of polyvinyl chloride, chloroprene, chlorosulfonated polyethylene, ethylene propylene, asphalt impregnated polyurethane, EPM or foam rubber. Hard roofing A is formed on the cushioning material B in correspondence with the step difference and fixed by driving fixturesβ. The hard roofing A is formed of a cement board, a ceramic board or a synthetic resin molded board. In the case of constructing the hard roofing A on the existing roof backingα(hard slate roof, for instance), the cushioning material B absorbs the level difference of the roof backingα. Work execution properties are therefore excellent, and the cushioning material follows the shape of the roof backing, so that the hard roofing is not broken by the load of a person.
