PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition and a method for removing a water content from a hydrogen halide without making a contaminant such as particles, moreover, to provide such the composition and the method having high capacity for removing the water content from either of vapor or liq. hydrogen halide and also to provide such the composition capable of being formed by the simple method compared to a method usable at present for producing a similar composition. SOLUTION: A composition is composed of a macroporous and carbonaceous supporting body coated with a magnesium halide and makes the removal of a water content from hydrogen halide effective. The water content removal is effectively executed by bringing the hydrogen halide fluid into contact with the macroporous and carbonaceous supporting body coated with the magnesium halide and separating the fluid from the coated supporting body. |
