PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten edge control stopping time by speedily moving a sensor to a fixed position against change-over of web width and to prevent interference of a web and the sensor. SOLUTION: This device is constituted to detect the end part position of a web 3 by an edge detection sensor 15 and to regulate a position of the web in the cross direction so that the end part position comes to be at a fixed position. In this case, a sensor moving means 40 to position the edge detection sensor 15 on an end part of the web is provided. The sensor moving means 40 has the sensor 15 on its head end and includes a revolving arm 44 a base end of which is supported free to revolve, a rotational drive device 41 including a revolving means 45 to revolve the revolving arm 44 and a control means 7l to actuate the rotational drive device 41 in accordance with width dimensions of a new web 3. |
