摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve stable operation of an engine and exhaust gas performance by a method wherein a pilot injection quantity is controlled so that a peak value of a heat generating factor along with piot injection calculated based on a pressure in a combustion chamberm concides with a target peak value. SOLUTION: A peak value qmax of a heat generating factor q is calculated as a maximum value of a heat generating factor during a calculating period between crank anglesθs andθe. Based on a deviation between the peak value qmax of the calculating pilot heat generating factor q and a pilot heat generating factor q predetermined according to the operation stage of an engine, the pulse width PWp of a drive pulse for pilot infection. Excellent combustion of infection fuel by pilot infection is effected, the generation of engine noise is suppressed and exhaust gas performance is improved.
