PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carboxylic acid ester in a high yield giving little by-product(s) and capable of recycling a catalyst used. SOLUTION: The method is provided by using a titanosilicate catalyst having mesoporous structure in a process where a carboxylic acid ester is produced by the reaction of a carboxylic acid and/or its anhydride with an alcohol, wherein the titanosilicate having mesoporous structure gives a peak corresponding to a lattice distance of 20-80Åin the powder X-ray diffraction analysis, the carboxylic acid is phthalic acid, and the alcohol is a 1-18C aliphatic monovalent alcohol.
