PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance rigidity at the housing part while suppressing weight increase or cost increase by closing at least one of the openings on the inlet and outlet sides of a carrying passage with a cover member. SOLUTION: A cover member, i.e., a paper feed tray 6, is fixed rotatably to the lower case 21 as the housing part of a recorder. When a sheet material 15 inserted into the recorder 1, the paper feed tray 6 is opened. When the recorder 1 is not used, the paper feed tray 6 is closed such that the forward end part thereof enters into an engaging part located on the inside of an upper case 22 as the housing. More specifically, the forward end part of the paper feed tray 6 abuts against the engaging part upon closure of the opening of a carrying passage to form a beam thus enhancing the strength against pressing force. Under a state where the paper feed tray 6 is closed, the upper and lower cases 22, 21 do not flex even if they are subjected to a pressure in the pressing direction. An open/close tray also serving as a paper discharge tray may be provided on the paper discharge side. |
