PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an ink fixability and a sheet water resistance by mixing specific amounts of a compound having a quaternary ammonium base at a side chain of a specific formula, an unsaturated compound having an anionic functional group, an alkoxyalkylacrylate represented by a specific formula, and an acrylic compound represented by a specific formula, and copolymerizing them. SOLUTION: The coating agent of an ink jet recording sheet is formed of a copolymer obtained by compolymerizing four components of 5 to 40 wt.% of an unsaturated compound having a quaternary ammonium base represented by a formula I (wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R2 to R4 are each a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group which may contain 1-9C substituent, (m) is an integer of 1 to 10, and X is an ammonium of a quaternizing agent), 1 to 20 wt.% of a compound having an anionic functional group, 1 to 20 wt.% of an alkoxyalkylacrylate represented by a formula II, and 20 to 93 wt.% of a compound represented by a formula III. And, a coating film having a good ink fixability, color developability and resolving power and excellent water resistance can be formed. |
