PREPARATION OF SILICONE GRAFT COPOLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for preparing a silicone graft copolymer which is particularly suitable for a sticking preventive layer in thermal transfer recording films by comprising efficiently incorporating silicone in the production of a silicon graft copolymer. SOLUTION: This process for preparing a silicone graft copolymer comprises polymerizing a monomer mixture in an org. solvent in the presence of an azo compd. having a solubility parameter of not more than 11.0 as a polymn. initiator. The monomer mixture comprises a silicon macromonomer and other radically polymerizable monomer, wherein the content of the silicone macromonomer and the content of the other radically polymerizable monomer based on the total amt. of the monomer mixture are 10 to 60 wt.% and 40 to 90 wt.%, respectively.
