<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the steering feeling, and to reduce the power consumption by performing the control so as to quickly lower the electric motor driving signal to the predetermined level when the electric motor control operation stop signal is detected by a stop signal detecting means, and thereafter, so as to gradually reduce the electric motor control signal. SOLUTION: A controller 50, in which the output signal from a steering angle sensor 36 and a torque sensor 38 or the like is inputted, controls the drive of an electric moor 56 so as to give the assist torque. At the time of assist control, in the case where a target value of the motor control signal is changed in comparison with the real motor control signal and where the rear motor control signal exceeds the motor control command value, the rear motor control signal is compared with a set value near the threshold value of the an area, in which a driver feels the reaction force from steering wheels 14, and in an area, in which the driver does not feel the reaction force. In the case where the rear motor control signal is less that the set value and where the motor control stop signal is detected, control is performed so as to quickly lower the motor control signal to the predetermined level, and thereafter, so as to gradually reduce it.</p> |
