PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state, olefin polymn. catalyst component contg. no inorg. carrier, having excellent polymn. activity and capable of giving a homogeneous polymer, and to provide an olefin polymn. process of gas-phase polymerizing an olefin in the presence of the catalyst component. SOLUTION: A solid-state, olefin polymn. catalyst component has an average particle dia. in the range of 50 to 50,000μm, and a bulk density in the range of 0.01 to 0.2 g/cc, and it comprises substantially a polyolefin and an aluminoxane. The solid-state, olefin polymn. catalyst component can be obtained by preliminarily polymerizing an olefin, for example, in the presence of a transition metal compd. and an aluminoxane.
