PURPOSE: To easily execute correspondence with an any number of gradations and to facilitate the correction of formed curves, and addition and registration of new ones. CONSTITUTION: A parameter memory 402 stores plural pairs of parameters which are used for generating the curve. A part 403 generating the γ correction curve generates the γcorrection curve formula y=f(x) regulating the input value (x) and output value (y) to 0-1 based on the parameter inputted by a control part 401 or the conventional parameter of a memory 402. When the three intermediate points are specified in addition to the start point and the end point, the polynomial deciding the correspondence of all inputs and outputs automatically is used. A γ correction arithmetic part 405 uses the conversion formula y'=a+by into the real scale and corrects the input image data independent of a scanner 404. Similarly, a γ correction arithmetic part 408 corrects the image data after converting, the color specification system is corrected for a printer 409. |
