PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary burning furnace, capable of preventing the re- carbonation of burnt dust-size particles separated from burnt material. SOLUTION: A rotary burning furnace 10 is formed as a cylindrical body formed about the horizontal axial line 11 or an axial lien 12, having a slight inclinationθwith respect to the horizontal surface, and receives rotary driving about the axial lien 12. The rotary burning furnace 10 is provided with a material receiving port 14 at one end side on the axial line, and a discharging port 15 at the other end side on the same axial line, while a material supplying pipe 16 is faced to the material receiving port 14, and high-temperature gas supplying pipes 18, 19, discharging high-temperature gas toward one end side on the axial line, are faced to the discharging port. An air sending pipe 17 for blowing gas containing oxygen into the furnace toward the other end side, is inserted into and arranged in one end side of the rotary burning furnace 10, while at least either one of the direction of the air sending pipe 17 with respect to the axial line 12 of the rotary furnace 10 or the inserting depth of the same pipe 17 into the rotary burning furnace along the axial line can be changed arbitrarily.
