<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform input operation without moving a pen from one hand to the other according to the use state by adding a remote operating function for noncontact cursor movement to the pen of a contact type input means. SOLUTION: When a button 101 is pressed, a pulse modulator 105 is driven to output an indication signal P for indicating the movement of the position of a cursor 4. According to this indication signal P, a red LED 102 at the pen tip and a green LED 103 at the pen root flicker at certain cycles. The state is expanded on an image memory 20 as a continuous still image by picking up an image of the state of a user including the pen 100 through an input 201. The maximum points of points where R and G components are large are found through a process based upon the image data to specify light emission positions, the coordinate differences between the red LED position and green LED position are calculated, and the position relation between both the points is recognized as the direction wherein the pen 100 is directed from the relation to specify the direction of the pen.</p> |
