PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a method for manufacturing a separator for battery, whereby an electrode is prevented from breaking by a lead pin. SOLUTION: One end in longitudinal direction of the second band-shaped porous film 2 is positioned identical to one edge across the width (TD direction) of the first band-shaped porous film 1, and the second film 2 is laid on the first film 1 and affixed thereto, and the portion of second film 2 ranging outside over the first film 1 is removed. This operating cycle is repeated from one end to the other in longitudinal direction (MD direction) of the first film 1. A sticky tape is affixed to the splicing part 2b of the second film 2a on the first film 1 so that a reinforcing layer is formed. The part where the reinforcing layer is formed is the part of electrode which contacts with a lead pin. The angle A formed by the longitudinal edge members of the first and second films should lie between 80 and 100 deg. |
