<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the distance to a target object without being limited by measurement accuracy and to decrease resolution by comparing the reference signal in the first period, the reception signal reflected on the object, and the discrimination signal in the second period. SOLUTION: A transmission PN signal 2 outputs the transmission PN signal based on a transmission clock, and the frequency-modulated transmission PN signal is separated into the detection signal of a target object and the reference signal by a directional coupler 5. The detection signal is transmitted to the target object, the reflected reception signal and the reference signal are synthesized by a synthesizer 8, and the synthesized signal is inputted to a correlation computing unit 13. A discrimination PN signal generator 10 outputs the discrimination PN signal based on a discrimination clock, and the frequency-modulated discrimination signal is inputted to the correlation computing unit 13. The discrimination signal and the synthesized signal are correlation-calculated by the correlation computing unit 13, and an output wave-form is outputted when both signals coincide in phase. The distance between objects or to an object can be led through from the output wave-form.</p> |
