<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain miniaturization by simplifying the configuration of a radio transmission section. SOLUTION: An ATM switch 14 selects an ATM cell sent from a network to a terminal 16 and stores it in an FIFO 3a in an ATM switch output section 1. A radio frame cell generating section 6 generates a radio frame cell. The radio frame cell is made up of an ATM header and a payload similarly to the ATM cell, and a payload part is made up of a guard time and a preamble. A radio idle cell generating section 4 generates a radio idle cell defined by the radio frame, and a radio cell multiplexing section 5 receives a radio frame cell, an ATM cell from the FIFO 3a, and the radio idle cell, and multiplexes them as data of the unit of one radio frame. The multiplexed data are divided in the units of SDH frames, and an SDH frame section 7 multiplexes divided data on SDH frames and sends to a radio transmission section 2.</p> |
