PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a connection edge forming method suitable for an optical fiber tape cord obtained by arraying optical tape strands vertically aligned with tensile strength lines in parallel, coating these lines with a taped layer to unit them into one body so that all the tensile strength lines are arranged on the same side. SOLUTION: A cut is formed from one surface side including no tensile strength line 2 on the edge of an optical fiber tape cord 5 to the other surface side including tensile strength lines 2. Then the cord 5 is bent to the tensile strength line direction on the cut part, cut edges are separated from each other, the lines 2 are peeled from the cord 5, and the peeled lines 2 are separated from each other. Then a coat layer 4 of the cord 5 is removed to lead out respective optical fiber naked lines. |
